Volunteers are the heart of our organization, and WTHS has many volunteer opportunities:
- Gardening: Under the direction of our head gardener, participate with others to maintain the gardens around the Historic Webster Village.
- Building Docents: Be the “expert” on a Village building during tours and/or programs.
- Docent Trainers: Share research and stories with volunteer docents so they are well informed.
- Building Maintenance and Engineering: Assist with regular maintenance of buildings, such as painting, cleaning, minor repairs; weatherizing, structural integrity, other projects as needed.
- Archivists: Assist with managing historical documents and photos, antique item displays, entering/scanning items into our database.
- Program Planning: Assist with program/event development, marketing, and data collection (attendance, contact information, and other statistics).
- Event Assistance: Assist with event production, e.g., tent-raising, setting up tables and chairs, setting up food/beverages, trash management, distributing supplies, selling raffle tickets, helping guide children through an event, etc.
- Resource Networking: Aid in identifying and applying for grants, researching resources to support development, and ways to sustain the Historic Webster Village and WTHS.
